Dining at Hanu’ Berarilor Casa Elena Lupescu feels like stepping into an elegant, traditional Romanian dining hall. The restaurant is beautifully designed, luxurious, and very impressive, making it a great choice for a relaxed couple’s dinner or a proper Romanian food experience ✨ From a food perspective, most dishes were very enjoyable. The potatoes were excellent — well seasoned and comforting. The asparagus was cooked just right, fresh and flavorful, and the salad was crisp and refreshing 🥗 The rice was good, simple, and well prepared. The sarmale were decent and enjoyable, though not the highlight of the meal. The only dish we didn’t really connect with was the mămăligă. Its texture was very mushy and it became firm very quickly, turning into a dense mass that was less pleasant to eat and didn’t balance the other dishes well. Service was a real highlight 💛 Our waitress, Angelica, was warm, patient, and genuinely kind, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. If you’re vegetarian, there are options available, but the selection is limited during regular days. During Romanian fasting periods, when meat is traditionally avoided, the vegetarian dishes are usually much more suitable and very tasty 🌱 Overall, this is clearly a place for meat lovers 🥩 Portions are very generous, classic Romanian style. For a couple, ordering three to four dishes is more than enough, as the portions are large and filling. A beautiful restaurant in Bucharest with generous portions, mostly very good food, and a refined traditional atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit 👍

One of the best dining experiences currently available in Bucharest. Fair prices, big portions, excellent service, good value for money. If you’re looking for traditional Romanian food this is the place to visit, the restaurant is set in an old mansion built at the beginning of the 1900s and it is considered a historical monument. It’s worth paying it a visit just to check out the house which is absolutely gorgeous. But while you’re there definitely order something to eat as you will not be disappointed. The food is really tasty, also they have a great variety of dishes to order from and the service was excellent, especially our waiter Gabriela who was very attentive to our needs, really pleasant and nice. She also made our crepes suzette which were delicious. We will be paying them another visit soon.

We were not sure if this is a tourist trap. It’s definitely not. Great food in a truly nice restaurant with mainly locals, which says everything. Service by Gabriela was amazing. She was friendly, patient with us, professional and really was the icing on the cake, making our last night in the city a memorable one. We all agreed we would come back again. Merci Gabriela, Multumesc.
